Education

The PFD is committed to the education of our children. Each year near Fire Safety Week the Fire Department hosts approximately 2000 3rd and 4th-grade students from Greene County and Southeast Missouri with the Fire Safety House, a mobile facility used to teach children how to prevent fires as well as how to get out safely if a fire were to occur in their home. During the year we visit numerous schools, daycares, and scouting groups to teach fire safety.
