Evidence Unit

The Evidence Unit is responsible for the secure handling, documentation, storage, and release of all property and evidence collected by the department. Evidence staff ensure that items are properly logged, preserved, and maintained in accordance with legal requirements, departmental policy, and established chain-of-custody standards.

This unit supports Patrol, Investigations, and prosecutorial efforts by safeguarding physical evidence from the time it is collected through final disposition. Evidence personnel coordinate evidence releases, court submissions, and authorized dispositions while maintaining accurate records and accountability.

Through meticulous attention to detail and strict compliance with procedures, the Evidence Unit plays a critical role in case integrity, successful prosecutions, and public trust in the criminal justice process.
