It’s hard to believe it’s nearly September and time for another Top 10 Things to Do in Paragould. Check out our top 10 events to do this fall!

1. Head to the Greene County Fair.

Funnel cakes, rides, animals, and more are waiting for you at the Greene County Fair. The Fair opens Monday, September 5 and goes through Saturday, September 11. Adults are $6 and children under 12 are $3. Admission to the demolition derby is an additional fee.

2. Help raise money for good causes.

Together we Foster will be hosting a benefit dinner and auction to help support the foster care community of Northeast Arkansas. The event is scheduled to begin at 5:00PM on Saturday, September 10 at The Crossing in Downtown Paragould. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased here. Together We Foster is an organization whose mission is to help support and encourage each individual in the foster care reunification process. For more information, visit their website.

The Greene County Community Fund will be hosting a Celebrity Waiter event at the Paragould Community Center on September 24 beginning at 5:00PM. This fundraiser allows you to tip your "celebrity" as you enjoy dinner with all proceeds going to the Greene County Community Fund, which benefits local non-profit organizations. 3. Attend the largest Get Downtown Festival to date.

Head to Downtown Paragould September 16-17 for activities to keep the family entertained for hours. The Festival will kick off on Friday night, September 16 with a Movie in the Streets at the Annual Block Party. On Saturday morning, the festivities begin with the Get Downtown races that will be on the new 8 Mile Creek Trail. New events this year include Touch a Truck, Kids Pavilion and a bigger layout of the festival. The musical lineup begins Friday night at 5:30PM and runs all day Saturday starting at 10AM. The headliner Universal Crush will perform at 7:00PM Saturday night. For more information about the Festival, visit here.

4. Support veterans and their families.

The smell of bacon and sausage is in the air at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2242. Every second Saturday of the month, the VFW hosts a monthly breakfast from 7:00-11:00AM to benefit veterans and their families. Pancakes, French toast, waffles, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, eggs, coffee, and juice are available for $7 for adults.

Upcoming dates include September 10, October 8, and November 13.

5. Eat on Pruett Street.

Join Main Street Paragould and friends for a meal under the Downtown lights on October 6! This fundraising event will continue the efforts of Main Street Paragould in revitalization efforts in Downtown Paragould. For sponsor and ticket pricing, call Main Street Paragould at 870-240-0544.

6. Listen to music after hours.

The last Downtown After Hours of the year will be October 14 at 7:30PM. Bring friends and family as you listen to live music, shop in the Downtown stores and enjoy great food. 7. Bash out breast cancer.

There will be a Bash Out Breast Cancer Benefit Derby on October 15 at 2:00PM at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The proceeds from the event benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. 8. Honor veterans and their families.

Main Street Paragould will host a Veteran's Day Coffee on November 11 to honor all those who served. Families are welcome to attend with their veteran. Breakfast will be provided. For more information as the day approaches, contact Main Street Paragould at 870-240-0544.


9. Shop 'til you drop on Black Friday.

If you love Black Friday, why not head Downtown to The Crossing for a Black Friday Bonanza?! Local craft vendors will be present on November 25-26 from 9:00AM-5:00PM selling their items. You might just find a Christmas present for someone special!

10. Encourage local small businesses.

Every year Small Business Saturday is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This encourages you to support local small businesses on November 26, but also throughout the year. Shop Paragould First this weekend as you enjoy Black Friday sales and more.
